My short story-memoire, ‘Firetrail’, published in the anthology True Tales from the Old Hill (2015, Frogmore Press), recounts being a child living in the Santa Monica canyons where summer days meant long walks with the dogs up on the firetrails, so-called because these cuttings in the mountains served as breaks, stopping brush fires jumping from one hill to the next.

Yosemite Falls

Over a protracted time, Wendy has been writing a novel. Yosemite Falls is the story of Della who, having tried to disappear into the Yosemite wilderness, finds herself again through friendship with Michael, the ‘host’ at one of the campsites. Encounters with bears, a jealous ex-boyfriend and the immense beauty of Yosemite National Park form the backdrop to a simple tale of camping and friendship.
